A Naturally Occurring Mineral With a Luster You Can't Manufacture
Mica is a naturally occurring rock-forming mineral, found in flake, hexagonal, and diamond-plate crystal forms. Unlike synthetic colorants, mica's color comes from its natural mineral composition — giving it a one-of-a-kind metallic luster that catches light unlike anything man-made.
Why Choose Mica Flakes
✓ Natural Mineral Origin — A genuine rock-forming mineral, not a synthetic substitute
✓ Unique Metallic Luster — Naturally reflective, catching light in a way synthetic pigments can't replicate
✓ Color Fast — Resists fading over time, maintaining its natural luster for years
✓ Chemical & Abrasion Resistant — Built to withstand daily wear, chemical exposure, and heavy traffic
✓ Slip Resistant Texturing — Adds natural texture underfoot for safer floors
✓ Hides Sub-Surface Imperfections — An economical way to mask minor flaws in your base coat
How to Use
Mica flakes can be broadcast over a wet epoxy base coat similar to standard decorative flakes, or blended into your epoxy mix depending on the look you're going for. Sold by the pound for flexible project sizing.

"Love what I ordered and plan to order more."
"The site really needs pictures of installed product. Pictured here is mb-5017 medallion mica flake with a barley corn beige color base and clear top coat. The flake we chose looks much lighter in the thumbnail on the website than it does installed. We are happy with the appearance but were aiming for a lighter color than we achieved. The calculator on the site gave us about 50% more than we needed for a single broadcast installation. We had enough for a double broadcast. We bought 40 pounds and did not even open one of the 10 pound boxes. And we used so much that we ended up collecting probably 15 pounds from what we sprinkled about that did not stick."
"This was a natural look for office space just changed a bit from look in bag once down on "wet" surface"
"used brown base coat for mica flakes. the mica does not look like the online photo. The online photo appears to have white as one of the main colors, but in reality the color is more of a reflective silver. I added a pound of copper and a pound of gold glitter to the 100 lbs. of mica and blended by hand with a respirator on. This resulted in a very unique appearance which really pops when the sun hits it. My wife loves the floor! I scraped the floor and vacuumed up the left over mica as directed. after applying top coats, the floor had many sharp points which would catch and shred my mop. I had to resand the floor to take down the points and reapply the top coat. If I did this job again, I would scrape the floor, and then buff it using a commercial buffer prior to applying the clear epoxy and top UV coats. This should eliminate any high points from forming. The high points were the result of the glitter half embedded in the epoxy. When I scraped the floor, it left many of those flaps which hardened into points after being pulled up by the roller."
