Professional-Grade Clear Protection for Epoxy & Decorative Concrete Floors
Give garage, residential and commercial floors a crystal-clear, high-gloss finish with Colored Epoxies PP-80 Clear Polyaspartic. This two-component, 80% solids polyaspartic-polyurea coating provides UV stability, abrasion and impact resistance, and chemical splash and spill resistance.
Use PP-80 Clear as the final protective topcoat over properly prepared, compatible epoxy and decorative flake flooring systems. It enhances the appearance of the base coat and flakes without adding a colored finish.
Why Choose PP-80 Clear Polyaspartic?
- Crystal-clear, high-gloss finish that shows off decorative floors.
- UV-stable formulation for indoor and outdoor applications, with no yellowing as described in the product TDS.
- Abrasion, impact and wear resistance for high-traffic flooring.
- Chemical splash and spill resistance; consult the TDS chemical-resistance table for specific exposures.
- Simple 1:1 Part A to Part B mixing ratio by volume.
- Half-gallon, 2-gallon and 10-gallon kits available.
Not an epoxy base coat or primer: for a decorative flake system, prepare the substrate, apply a compatible colored epoxy base coat, broadcast decorative floor flakes, and finish with PP-80 Clear according to the system instructions.
PP-80 vs. Traditional Epoxy Clear Coats
PP-80 is a polyaspartic-polyurea coating, not a 100% solids epoxy. Its technical sheet lists UV stability and quick drying compared with epoxies. Choose it when a clear, UV-stable protective finish and a shorter return-to-service schedule suit the project. Select each coating for the substrate, exposure and compatible flooring system rather than treating the two chemistries as interchangeable.
PP-80 Coverage per Gallon
Estimated PP-80 Clear topcoat coverage over decorative flakes
| Flake broadcast |

For example, a 500-square-foot floor with full flake broadcast requires approximately 5 gallons of PP-80 at 100 square feet per gallon. Actual coverage varies with porosity, texture and application thickness. Round up to available kit quantities and allow for project conditions.

How to Apply PP-80 Over Decorative Flake Flooring
- Check the current TDS, SDS and kit label. Confirm the base coat, preparation and recoat window are suitable for the complete system.
- Prepare a clean, dry, sound substrate and remove loose material from the decorative flake surface as required by the system instructions.
- Mix equal parts A and B by volume in a clean, dry container for approximately 2–3 minutes. Do not confuse pot life with tack-free time.
- Apply evenly with the recommended 18-inch squeegees and rollers at the appropriate coverage rate. Follow the TDS for roller selection, ventilation, protective equipment and application conditions.
- Allow the coating to cure before foot or heavy traffic. Cure rates change with temperature and humidity.
Working Time, Cure Times & Care
The October 19, 2026 PP-80 TDS lists approximately 15–20 minutes of pot life after mixing at 70–80°F and roughly 50% relative humidity, 3 hours to tack free, 5–7 hours before foot traffic, and 12–24 hours before heavy traffic. These are different measurements, not interchangeable working-time claims. Conditions affect curing; follow the kit label and current TDS before returning a floor to use.
PP-80 is 80% solids by weight (±1%), with VOC content listed as less than 250 g/L. It is not a zero-VOC epoxy. Use proper ventilation and the protective equipment specified in the SDS and TDS.
Polyaspartic Coating FAQs
Is PP-80 Clear the same as colored PP-80?
This page sells the clear protective finish. PP-80 Colored Polyaspartic is sold separately for colored coating applications.
Can PP-80 Clear go over an epoxy flake floor?
Yes, use it over a properly prepared, compatible epoxy and decorative flake system within the specified recoat conditions. Follow the coating system instructions and test compatibility before application.
Does a half-gallon kit contain half a gallon of mixed coating?
The kit sizes are total combined quantities of Part A and Part B. Mix equal volumes of each component; do not treat the listed kit size as the quantity of each part.
Can I use PP-80 Clear outdoors?
The TDS lists UV stability and exterior applications. Confirm the substrate, temperature and exposure meet the application requirements. Direct sun can raise substrate temperature beyond the permitted range.
